Cooking your own food will help your self regulate what you eat. The amounts of unhealthy food consumed and frequency that you eat it will greatly decrease! By making a rule that you must cook 90-100% of what you eat you will start to notice a big change in your health and energy levels.
This might be the simplest diet/lifestyle change on the market because you can still eat the foods you love! On top of not feeling restricted you will also be learning awesome cooking skills that can unleash your creative side.
After you implement this step in your life and become comfortable cooking all of your own food then it will be much easier to start adjusting your diet to include more foods that make you feel great.

P.S. The intention behind the food can be more important than what you actually eat. For example if you are eating to distract yourself from emotional pain then maybe what you need is love and connection from the people around you. Sometimes eating too much or eating unhealthy is a symptom of a much deeper problem.
