It’s no secret that social media is full of heavily edited photos. Unrealistic body shapes and facial features are everywhere, yet some influencers still think they can fool others with filters and Photoshop.
Makeup artist Holly Cockerill, who is well-known on TikTok, decided to expose the truth behind these altered images. She created a series of “Instagram vs. Reality” photos in her TikTok videos, editing her own pictures to demonstrate the effect. “Social media is fake, don’t be fooled,” she wrote in the captions. Holly also clarified that she doesn’t use these edited images herself—it was purely to show how easy it is for people to manipulate their photos.
