Khloé Kardashian is undoubtedly one of the most recognized names in pop culture, with her entire family building an iconic brand. However, Khloé faced some of the harshest media scrutiny as she stepped into the spotlight, often judged for her appearance—from her weight to her facial features. Despite this pressure, she has continually evolved, both personally and stylistically. By looking back through the years, we can trace how her fashion choices and public image have transformed, reflecting her journey and growth.
Khloé has struggled a lot with body image.
The reality star once expressed, “In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule, and lifelong judgment to be perfect and meet others’ standards of how I should look has been overwhelming. ‘Khloé is the fat sister. Khloé is the ugly sister. Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different. The only way she could have lost that weight must have been through surgery.’”
While it’s expected that public figures will attract attention, it is unfair to subject them to constant scrutiny for the choices they make about their appearance and identity. As Khloé has emphasized, all she asks is to be seen and treated like a normal human being.
She also battles anxiety.
Being constantly in front of cameras and millions of people can be incredibly overwhelming. Khloé Kardashian has spoken openly about the intense anxiety she experiences when attending public events, such as television interviews. “I have to do James Corden. I just get such anxiety about going. It’s never about the interview itself—it’s the aftermath. I have to hear everyone’s opinions, their judgments, the overanalyzing of everything I say, and the constant picking apart.”
She also feels that while social media was once enjoyable, in recent years it has become detrimental to mental health. Every photo she posts is scrutinized, and she’s often accused of excessive editing—even when a photo has barely been altered. Her mother, Kris Jenner, has acknowledged the toll this takes: “I think anytime you’re in the public eye, it opens you up to scrutiny and criticism over every little thing. With Khloé, she internalizes that. And even though we all have tough skin, every now and then, our emotions catch up with us.”
She never had confidence issues before the reality show aired.
“Interestingly enough, I was so confident and secure before the show,” Khloé once revealed. Her struggles with self-esteem began after the reality show started airing, when viewers and critics labeled her the “fat” and “ugly” sister. “That’s when I started to be hard on myself, because I thought, ‘Oh, this is how other people see me.’ I became insecure because of what everyone else was telling me.”
Khloé has been candid about using photo editing apps like Facetune, openly admitting that she enjoys perfecting her images. “Facetune is the best thing to bring to the table. It’s life-changing. But it’s not real—you’re presenting to the world what you want them to believe you are. It’s amazing. I think our society today is so focused on getting validation from social media that people don’t really know themselves anymore—they just post what they think others want to see.”
She’s open about the plastic surgery she’s done.
While there’s endless speculation about her appearance, Khloé has been transparent about at least one procedure she’s had. “For me, everyone says, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s had her third face transplant,’ but I’ve only had one nose job.”
When asked about Botox, she admitted to trying it but said she had a bad reaction. Despite frequent accusations that her weight loss is the result of medical procedures, Khloé insists it’s the outcome of consistent effort and discipline.
“I find it disgusting—though maybe it’s a backhanded compliment—that people accuse me of having liposuction. I work out five days a week,” she said. Since adopting fitness as part of her lifestyle, Khloé seems to have genuinely fallen in love with it—and has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
